Greetings,
I have always known the importance of taking a step back and looking at what one has accomplished.
SOCoPrepSports has been a success with more that 400 articles and nearly 50,000 visitors reading stories about our local student athletes.
As many of you know, I’m doing this on my own. I write the articles, take the photos and manage the website.
Not to worry, this isn’t a letter stating SOCoPrepSports is ending, just announcing some new changes.
New Features section
This year, I feel like I need to return to why I fell in love with sports journalism in the first place.
I enjoy sharing the stories of others.
In my time as a sports journalist, I’ve written about hundreds of athletes, and each one has had a special story to tell about what motivates them as athletes.
I’ve tried to do some of that at SOCoPrepSports. Some stories that come to mind include ‘A big league upbringing’, the story about Mark McGwire’s sons, Max and Mason and ”A basketball remedy’ about San Juan Hills’ basketball coach Jason Efstathiou.
So, in light of this, SOCoPrepSports is proud to announce “Showcase”
These in-depth articles will highlight the challenges, successes and unique stories that define student athletes and their teams.
If you know an athlete, coach or team that would make a great “showcase,” please email me with “Showcase idea” in the subject line and include the name, team or location, and reason they should be featured in the email.
Yearly price reduction
SOCoPrepSports is also happy to say that we will be lowering our subscription prices for this year.
A yearly membership will cost just $50, while monthly memberships are just $5 per month.
Those already subscribed will be charged for the lesser price on the new billing cycle.
We understand paywalls are no fun for anyone but I want to do my best to give you a great product at a reasonable price.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me during my time with SOCoPrepSports. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out on social media or email me.
I look forward to seeing you all out there.
Sincerely yours,
